T-series Provides Top Korean Internet Data Center Operator With Superior Performance and Scale
SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 10, 2003óJuniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that leading Korean Internet data center operator, KIDC, has chosen the T-series routing platform to support a major network backbone upgrade at its flagship data center in Seoul.
Operating in one of the world's most developed Internet markets, KIDC faces the dual pressures of rapid customer growth and accommodating traffic volumes that are doubling annually. The T640 backbone core IP routing platform from Juniper Networks enables KIDC to cost-effectively support new major corporate customers and deliver new services with an assured user experience.
KIDC offers a range of advanced IP services including managed co-location, managed server hosting, outsourcing, managed security and back up. The catalyst for the recent backbone upgrade was a surge in demand through IP traffic growth and industry consolidation.

According to Jang, the T-series routing platform provides unprecedented scale. KIDC can meet present day needs using just 30 percent of the total capacity of each device, whereas comparable offerings from other vendors were close to their limits even at current capacity levels. The T640 offers 32 10GBps interfaces per chassis, exceeding KIDC's current requirements of 10 and 12 10GBps interfaces per chassis. At current growth levels, the T-series platforms will support KIDC's needs for several years to come.
